I don’t know if anyone’s going to agree with me on this but the Barça v Real Madrid game wasn’t that much of a deal the other night.

I mean, every Culé worth his salt was hoping for a 6 – O goalfest but it was not to be. I just hope Barcelona fans recognise that it was a pretty lame game all round. E’to scored eight minutes from time in a goal mouth scramble and then Leo Messi put the icing on the cake with a nice run but ended with Cannavaro helping the ball home and into the back of the net.  Hardly the whitewash every Culé came to see. Even Real madrid had their chances – with Drenthe being the main culprit for not “sticking it in”. Nerves, big occasion or lack of finishing skills put paid to that  opportunity.

This effectively puts Barcelona 12 points clear in the league table but I hasten to add as one sports newspaper put it today “there are more games left to play this season than have already been played”. Mmmm…interesting!

So, will Real Madrid catch up? Will Juande Ramos turn things around and give mighty Barcelona a run for its money?
